The South African Virtual Air Force preparers are responsible for a number of system groups and form the visible line of the Air Force Combat Systems Group Helicopter Systems Group Transport and Maritime Systems Group Command and Control Systems Group.

SSOFDS is our fixed wing test pilot and responsible for testing new aircraft that come into our program, finding the best possible instrumentation to use / add or replace, and helping SAVAF pilots with all technical issues they may have.

The Chief Training Officer is responsible for all Elementary and Advanced Flight Training, as well as all conversions onto the various SAVAF aircraft (evaluating check rides).

Lt Col Eddy Evans, Senior Staff Officer Pilot Coordinator (SSOPC).

The Senior Staff Officer Pilot Coordinator
takes care of membership needs, personell management
and also acts as liason officer between pilots and
the Air Office when the need arises. Public
relations are also part of his portfolio.
