Universal Time (UTC) is a timescale based on the rotation of the Earth. It is a modern continuation of the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), i.e., the mean solar time on the meridian of Greenwich, England, which is the conventional 0-meridian for geographic longitude.
In aviation, ALL aircraft refer to this Universal time when mentioning their time, that means that all aircraft in the world will refer to the same basis, which is also referred to as ZULU (Z) time.
South African LOCAL time (Bravo) is GMT+2 hours. The current time (Local compared to the International standard) is available below, and also on our site homepage.
(There are operating system functions available whereby you can synchronise your PC (system) clock with the actual time, we suggest that you enable this feature.)
All instances on this website (and for any aviation purpose) where you are required to input time, you are required to refer to ZULU-Time (the world-wide standard).
