Here you will find a description of the Air-to-Air refueling procedures. This information is not to teach you the process of AAR, but to inform you about the procedures how AAR is being done. The practising of this procedure will only commence once SOCOMM have obtained instructors with the necessary skills to teach our officers the AAR procedure.
In aviation , a Flight Level is a standard nominal altitude of an aircraft , referenced to a world-wide fixed pressure datum (QNH 1013.2). It is not necessarily the same as the aircraft's true altitude above mean sea level. Altitudes are only called by their three-digit flight level above the transision altitude. With all aircraft having the same pressure reference, every aircraft can be assigned a flight level, The altitude difference of aircraft flying at different flight levels remains constant, ensuring vertical separation. Taking this into account the Semi-Circular-Rule indicates the magnetic tracks pilots must use when flying in a certain direction.
